 Warmley Rangers 8 v 2 Avon Athtletic
Warmley Rangers 4 v 0 Avon Athletic
Avon knew this was going to be a difficult game, with Warmleys 22 wins out of 26 games and Avon missing 5 key players including influential goalkeeper Lewis Brodie, Avon were slow getting into the game. This gave Warmley the opportunity to attack and gain their 1st goal just a couple of minutes into the game with a low shot just creeping past keeper Zach Ellaway's efforts. Avon were on the back foot rarely getting possession of the ball and soon oing 2-0 down. When Avon did get the ball they were a threat, good work from right wing Blake Hoskins creating a chance but no shot on target. With Warmley goal machine Nathan Wliks playing it was always likely he was going to add to his 54 goals and he did, a clinical finish putting Warmley 3-0 up just before half time Warmley added a fourth well worked goal. Half time Warmley 4-0 Avon Athletic Avon started the second a lot better closing down players early but Warmley were straight on the attack again with a good strike from distance but going wide of target. Avon made a substitution Paul McCrimmond making way for Luke Howard. Ben Sweetman switched to defence with Luke playing a central role and Avon were much more in the game with good defending by Ben Howells and Ben Sweetman. Avon started to attack more in the second half coming close a couple of times with good team passing but just couldn't get the ball over the line. Robbe Warden came on for man of the match Blake Hoskins and Cato Kendall-Muniesa moving to centre forward. Robbie came close to scoring for Avon soon after coming on but Warmley stopped his efforts. Warmley did attack in the 2nd half but were limited to just a coule of shots, a fantastic save by Avon's Zach Ellaway preventing Warmley scoring a fifth. Man of the Match Blake Hoskins
Warmley Rangers 4 v 2 Avon Athletic
Avon had to defend well in this game, with untested goalkeeper Blake Hoskins stepping in goal with Avon's goalkeeper missing. Avon again found this game hard to make an impact and being forced to play much of the game in their own half. Avon did force themselves to attack, an early freekick from Zach Ellaway just going wide of the post. Another quality corner from Zach caused Warmley problems but Finley Sumners shot was blocked. With Avon making several changes to this team it was always difficult for them to sdjust. Warmley's first goal wasn't cleared by the Avon defence and they soon went 2-0 up with a fantastic strike giving goalkeeper Blake no chance. In the second half Avon made a couple of changes which did make a difference. Substitute Luke Howard coming on in midfield with George Holland moving forward. Luke making the most of the chances setting up Rhys Thomas only for his shot to go wide. Avon soon found themselves 3-0 down the Warmley striker split the Avon defence and with just the keeper to beat fired in the 3rd. Sub Robbie Warden came on and made an instant impact scoring Avon's first goal which the Warmley keeper couldn't keep out. Warmley got their 4th when a cross from the right was deflected in off Avon's Moy Cohen. Avon's Rhys Thomas putting in an excellent performance working hard to get forward and back deserving his man of the match award. Avon got their 2nd goal from Robbie Warden controlling well and turning to slam home his 2nd of the game. Man of the Match Rhys Thomas.
Good effort all round from both teams.
