Avon Athletic JFC. was formed in 1975, we are one of the largest junior clubs in Bristol and run teams from under 7 to under 16 with approx 200 playing children.
Our home venue is situated at The Mile Straight Sports ground, New Road, Filton, Bristol, next to Filton High School. We have currently moved away from this site due to ground re-development. We share these facilities with Greyfriars Athletic FC who play on Saturdays and Bohemiums cricket club.
The ground is due to be completed by September 2008 and the re-development will give us new training facilities, new pitches and a new club house.

Our club colours are Yellow & Green.

Avon Ath JFC recruit players from all over the city, our recruitment intake process includes schools, Sports centres, soccer schools, & scouting.
We are a friendly, successful, and ambitious club, and have a reputation for playing attractive football in a spirit of good sportsmanship.
We have an excellent record of developing talent using our qualified coaches, with a number of Avon Ath players moving on to representative and professional football. However, we never lose sight of the fact that for the vast majority of our players, the sport represents an opportunity to make friends, stay fit, and have some fun whilst playing the World’s favourite sport. Hopefully along the way they will learn some lessons about self-discipline, co-operation, friendship and leadership that will stand them in good stead as they approach adult-hood.
Games at junior level are predominantly played on Sunday mornings, and in addition players will be expected to attend one mid week training session lasting approx 1 to 1 1/2 hours.

We are a Chartered Standard Football Club and all Coaches at Avon are FA qualified.
The Club follow F.A. guidelines both in terms of player development, and as administrators for local soccer.
All qualified Coaches & club personel have CRB certificates.
We have a Club Welfare Officer ensuring best practices are always adhered to.
As part of the constitution all parents are required to sign and abide by the Club’s Code of Conduct.

We have an excellant social appetite including Christmas Parties for the younger age groups, touring opportunities during May, and a Presentation Evening at the Memorial Ground at the end of the season, as well as many other activities.
